Hi! It’s Jesse. We are offering a 1-gallon Aloe plicatilis (Kumara plicatilis), commonly known as the Fan Aloe.
These are incredible tree-forming Aloes with one of the most distinctive growth habits in the Aloe family. Instead of forming a traditional rosette, the smooth gray-green leaves grow in two opposite rows, creating the beautiful fan-shaped foliage this species is famous for.
As it matures, Aloe plicatilis develops a thick trunk with repeated forked branching, eventually forming a sculptural shrub or small tree around 10–16 feet tall.
Mature plants produce upright, unbranched flower stalks with beautiful scarlet to orange-red tubular flowers held above the fan-shaped foliage.
This one is already getting some nice size and is in pristine condition. A slow-growing, highly architectural South African species and a must-have Aloe for the serious collector. These are flowering-age Aloes.
You will receive the actual Aloe pictured or a similar Aloe.
Aloes will be mailed bare root.
Thank you,
Little Garden Gemz
