Hi! It’s Jesse. We are offering a 1-gallon Aloe vanbalenii, commonly known as the Crawling Octopus Aloe.
These are beautiful long-leaved, clump-forming Aloes with deeply channelled leaves that twist and curve dramatically outward, giving the plant its distinctive octopus-like appearance.
Aloe vanbalenii generally reaches around 12–24 inches tall and develops short creeping stems that gradually produce numerous rosettes, eventually forming an impressive dense colony.
One of the most striking features of this species is its foliage color. In shade, the leaves remain bright green, while plants grown in strong sun can develop incredible copper-red to reddish-bronze coloring.
Mature plants produce branched flower stalks reaching around 3 feet tall, carrying beautiful tubular flowers in shades of yellow, orange, and red, with red being especially common.
This one is already getting some nice size and is in pristine condition. A colorful, highly architectural South African Aloe and a must-have for the collector. These are flowering-age Aloes.
You will receive the actual Aloe pictured or a similar Aloe.
Aloes will be mailed bare root.
Thank you,
Little Garden Gemz
